On front pastedown is a 4" x 2-1/2" label that says: This volume is from the Library of SAMUEL LANGHORNE CLEMENS (Mark Twain). Sold February, 1911, by The Anderson Auction Company, No. 12 East 46th Street, New York. Signed by Albert Bigelow Paine, Literary Executor. Also on front pastedown is the bookplate of Joan Whitney.
