London: Smith, Elder, & Co., 1853. First edition. 8-1/16" x 5-9/16. Blind stamped brown cloth bindings. Spines stamped in gold. All volumes tight. Vol. I and Vol. II each have a slight lean. Gold flaked a bit from the publisher's name at bottom of spine (see photos). A few tiny stains here and there throughout but in general all pages are bright and clean. Previous owner's name at top of title pages.
